7:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
CommUNITY en ACCIÓN (CEA) presents the 2027 Young Achievers Forum (YAF). YAF is a free annual event that provides you and your middle school child an opportunity to visit
The University of Texas at El Paso for the day.
The visit aims to introduce your child to educational pathways after high school.
During the event, local professionals and widely respected speakers will talk to you and your child about educational pathways that lead to successful careers. Your child will be exposed to broad career fields during their university visit, including Business/Finance, Health/Medical Sciences/STEM, Liberal Arts, Military, and Vocational training.
Parents and guardians are also welcome to the event! While your child is experiencing the YAF, parents are invited to attend breakout sessions and learn about tools to plan for your child's education after high school. The parent sessions and a campus tour will be conducted in English and Spanish.
YAF objectives include the following:
- Inform students and their parents/guardians about the importance of higher education
- Expose youth to career opportunities through positive local role models
- Introduce youth and their parents/guardians to financial aid options
- Empower parents and guardians to prepare their children for a path to higher education
If you have any questions or need additional information about YAF, please contact Anna Aleman, CEA Executive Director, at
