2023 Equity and Excellence Conference Presentation Materials

Thank you for sharing your expertise and making this conference a success.

As you know, we are committed to providing electronic versions of materials to all participants and to making those materials accessible.

Once you submit your materials, they will be checked for accessibility. You may be contacted to make additional changes. If you do not hear back from us, you can assume your materials were accessible or required minimal remediation.

If you do not see your presentation in the dropdown list, you can still upload it without selecting an item in the dropdown menu.

If your presentation was a late addition, it may not be listed here.

Thank you!

Before submitting your presentation materials, please review the following checklists:

Checklist for slide decks:
  • Use appropriate slide layouts instead of starting with a blank slide.
  • Make sure each slide has a heading and that headings are unique.
  • Add alt text for all images.
  • Use fonts of 24 point or greater. (If font is smaller than 24, break content into more slides.)
  • Use good contrast.
  • Instead of pasting URLs, provide meaningful links.
  • Run the accessibility checker and correct errors.
Checklist for documents:
  • Use tools to create true headings for your document (starting with H1 as the title).
  • Add alt text to all images.
  • Instead of pasting URLs, provide meaningful links.
  • Make sure tables are accessible.
  • Run the accessibility checker and correct errors.

For more details on how to create accessible materials, refer to [link to be posted soon].
6. Phone contact methods: *This question is required.
7. Type of presentation: *This question is required.
The pre-conference and concurrent sessions are listed in the dropdown menu by order of their assigned number. If you are not sure of the number of your session, you can check the appropriate schedule: Poster sessions are listed by name.

Some titles have been truncated in this form to reduce the length of the menu. They will not be shortened in the program.
9. Original MS PowerPoint Presentation
(Your original PowerPoint will not be provided to participants but will be used to create an accessible PDF version. Even if you are submitting an accessible PDF, please provide the original in case there are problems with the PDF.)
10. Accessible PDF of PowerPoint if available
(If you have created an accessible version of your PowerPoint already, feel free to provide that here.)
11. Additional handouts
(Where possible, please provide the source document. If you have created an accessible PDF, provide both versions in case we find problems with the PDF. You can upload up to 10 files here. If you have more than that, please send additional files by email to mthornt@uark.edu.)
Feel free to contact Elisa Laird (elisa@ahead.org) and Melanie Thornton (mthornt@uark.edu) with questions about accessible materials.
